Safe Crystals for Direct Contact

Most polished stones are safe. Do not use unpolished (raw) stones if you are not sure. These stones are safe. Quartz (Clear, Rose, Smokey, Amethyst) – Hard and non-toxic.

Carnelian, Tiger’s Eye, Aventurine – Generally safe, but only if tumbled and non-coated.

Indirect Use Is Safest

Some crystals can leach toxic substances or break down in oil.

For safety: Use crystals near your blend, not inside.

Avoid Direct Contact with These Crystals in Oils:

Malachite – Contains copper; toxic and reactive.

Selenite – Water-soluble and soft; degrades quickly.

Lepidolite – Contains lithium and flakes easily.

Halite, Pyrite, Calcite, Angelite, Fluorite – Often too soft, porous, or

chemically reactive for direct use in oils.
